Ethos
Our company ethos is to provide good quality products, a personal customer service and installers employed by ourselves rather than sub-contractors. We use products supplied by some of the most reliable names within our industry:
The Process
Step 1
If you are interested in any of our products and services please contact us by telephone or emailing via the contact page. We will arrange for one of the directors to visit your property as we don't use salesmen. During this visit our aim is to listen to you, the customer, and find out what you want. We'll talk to you about what products we can offer, advise you on design and security options and any necessary building regulations that must be abided by. We'll take approximate dimensions and any other information required to allow us to provide you with an accurate quotation. We can show you samples of the products and leave brochures with you for your reference. We don't provide prices at this stage.
Step 2
We work out your prices and provide you with a full and comprehensive written quotation. We accompany this with more brochures if required and computer aided drawings for conservatory designs. We generally post our quotations but can email if required more urgently. We will then make a courtesy call 2 or 3 days after to double check you've received your quotation and to confirm all the required information is contained. We don't pester you to order.
Step 3
If you're happy with our quotation and wish to proceed, let us know and we'll arrange a convenient time to undertake a full survey of the proposed works. We then send you a full written contract / order form. This acts not only as the contract, but allows both you, the customer, and ourselves a final opportunity to double check and confirm all designs and specifications. Once signed we can order all materials for manufacture.
Step 4
Depending on the nature of work, your requirements and our workload, the installation will usually take place in about 4 to 6 weeks. We can accomodate work on shorter lead times if required and have a five day turnaround on the manufacture of window frames. We will contact you a couple of weeks prior to confirm a suitable date for the installation.
Step 5
The installation will take place. Due to the varied nature of works we carry out, it's impossible to provide too many details here. Full details are supplied within our written quotations. What we can say is, during the installation stage your home will be treated with the utmost respect, will be left as it was found, swept, dust sheeted and vacuumed.
Step 6
On final completion, the installation is registered with the relevent authorities such as FENSA, building control and National warranties. They will then send their certification direct to you. Our invoice will be issued, along with some further information and recommend a friend bonus vouchers.
Its as simple as that! We'll we'd like to think so, most of the time anyway. We'd be foolish to suggest that everything always goes perfectly and mistakes never happen because obviously, they do. With building and construction works, unexpected things can happen and do happen. You can never fully know what you may find whilst removing a window from an old house, what you may uncover when digging footings for a conservatory or see how much roof felt has rotten until youve actually removed the tiles from a roof. All we can promise is, we're an honest, respectful, caring company and dont hide away from the reality that these things happen. If we find a problem, we'll tell you about it. If we create a problem, we'll sort it.
Us and the Enviroment
Advanced Windows recycle all of our post consumer and virgin uPVC waste. This includes items such as old window and door frames, old guttering and fascias and all offcuts from new installations. Please follow the link to Dekuras website to see how the process works and details on the products generated from this process. In our case, if we take out an old uPVC door, it gets recycled and returns to us in the form of RCM (Recycled Composite Material) reinforcement in our new windows and doors. Traditionally, this reinforcement would have been made from galvanised steel. We also supply and install a rainwater guttering system which uses 84 per cent recycled material. Advanced Windows also recycle all of our post consumer glass waste. All glass from your old windows and doors (and the odd mishap with new glass) goes to Biffa waste to be re-used.
Window Energy Ratings (WERs) are a guide to help you whilst making a decission on the performance of a window with regards to its energy efficiency. All of our windows come with a C rating as standard and by simply using an upgraded double glazed sealed unit, can be improved to an A rating. Use the following link to see how WERs work, the benefits A rated windows provide for the environment and the savings you can make to your energy bills.
Trade counter and supply only service
Advanced Windows are registered stockists of Swish and Eurocell building products. We operate a trade counter, also available to the general public, where all of our products are available to purchase. We keep in stock a huge range of uPVC products, from fascia boards to window trims, skirting boards to guttering, internal wall cladding to laminate windowboards. We also stock silicones, cleaners, fixings, adhesives and much much more. We also provide a supply only service for windows, doors, polycarbonate sheeting, glass and any of the other items we install.
